Speaker 1:And this is the Feeling Faith Podcast, where we share stories and testimonies to encourage, inspire and motivate people to grow closer to Christ. Today I'm here with Christopher Evans. He's actually gonna be interviewing me, so my co-host and we'll be sharing my story.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I'm so excited. Most of you probably know Kyle from the Marketing Empire group, but I'm so excited about today that he actually gets to invite you into his personal faith journey and to hear his story, where he's from and what he's been through and just his venture of faith with God.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I've been pushing this off for too long.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so, kyle, we're super excited. Man, thank you for taking the time here, and I just know that many are gonna be inspired and touched by your story, and so why don't we just dive in and get started and tell us, kyle, where are you from, what's your background, where did you grow up?
Speaker 1:Yeah, so grew up in Reno Lake, tahoe area, so that was my stomping ground, small town. We had a graduating class of 200 people so I got an older brother, two younger sisters and, yeah, grew up playing sports. I was big I was a football player, played running back, played basketball, snowboarder, being up in Tahoe always out at the lake, and yeah, that was my upbringing In our town. We literally had nothing like no bowling alley, no movie theaters, like nothing like that. So outdoors was our thing. Sports was the only thing that we had to entertain.
Speaker 2:Wow, sounds like a fun upbringing. So were you involved in church? Did you go to church? Did you attend church growing up?
Speaker 1:So we went to church like most people on Easter and Christmas. Sometimes it wasn't like all the time, wasn't every year, but my parents kinda would, would make us go here and there. And then my junior year in high school my parents found the Lord gave their life to Christ and they would make us go, sometimes, to church. It wasn't like a consistent thing. They went every Sunday. But dealing with a 17 year old, 18 year old, it's kinda hard to get them to commit. So we kinda went here and there so I had a little bit of an influence. But then I went to college after I graduated high school and had no influence of God in my life, just partied and had fun with my friends. I chose not to take any of the football scholarships that I had because I wanted to stay close to home and didn't wanna leave the state.
Speaker 1:I had a couple D2 and D3 scholarship offers.
Speaker 2:Where'd you go to school?
Speaker 1:I went to school at UNR University of Nevada, reno, so I went there for one year partied hard and, like I said, had no influence of God. And then God brought me down to California got me away from my friends a little bit. I love them. They're amazing Still keeping contact with most of them. We went to school from elementary all the way through high school. So yeah, god definitely wanted me to kinda move out of that scene.
Speaker 2:Wow, so God brought you to California. So how did that happen? How was that transition?
Speaker 1:Yeah. So one day I just woke up and realized I wasn't doing much in my life. I kinda got caught up in the partying world and wanted to be better. So I decided to move down to Southern California. It's a riverside and that's where my grandparents lived. So I lived in Riverside until I was about four years old with my grandparents and then so, when I moved back down here, started working at a gym and it was a Christian based gym actually. So I had one of my mentors. He brought me to church and I got connected to his harvest with Greg Laurie, oh yeah.
Speaker 2:I love that church.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so I got involved with the young adults ministry and so I was just going there every Friday nights, got kinda plugged in, and that's when I really started building and establishing a relationship with God.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:I started reading my Bible and actually fell in love with the greatest love story of all time, which is the Bible and God's story to us. Yeah, that's how I ended up getting plugged in.
Speaker 2:That's amazing. So, as far as developing your relationship with God and going on this journey of faith, what was kinda your turning point at really discovering your purpose?
Speaker 1:Yeah, so about a year ago actually, let me roll it back. So at that gym I found some of my best friends who I'm still in contact with today, really good Christian guys, really good mentor, helped me walk my faith, and then also found my wife through that gym. So during that time she was her mom, was a client first, and then she became a client, so I was a personal trainer. They would be in my classes, so I pretty much trained her whole family and at one point her dad even came in and so I trained the whole family at one point in time. And so that's how that happened and I was praying for my wife so strategically. I just had heard a message before like, oh, pray for your wife, even before she's like here, you know you're to be praying for the kids, just pray right now. And I was like, dang, that's an interesting concept.
Speaker 1:I really liked that and so I was doing that and she popped into my life and, of course, one thing led to another, ended up asking her out, and about three months into our relationship I was like he's the one, Wow after three months?
Speaker 2:After three months, yeah, when you know, you know.
Speaker 1:You know, you know that's right. And so three months in, I was like I think she's the one, Lord, is she the one? And I really started praying on it. And so I went through a three month period of really diligently praying. I ended up getting a postcard one day, randomly. I said eat, drink and be married. And it was random from men's warehouse, never been there, I don't even know how they got my info. And then I was like, ah, that's a coincidence, praying more. A couple weeks later I get another one and it's tuxedo rentals for groomsmen. I'm like what the heck? That's weird Signs that make you wonder. Yeah, like that's a coincidence. I'm like, lord, give me something real, give me something real.
Speaker 1:And so one night I was just in my bedroom. I'll never forget that night. I just sat down on the floor, I grabbed my Bible and I just opened up to a random page. And I opened up to Proverbs 31. And Proverbs 31 is all about a virtuous wife. And so I just started reading it and I started crying. I'm like, wow, she's the one. I've been praying this whole time. I just needed to open my Bible to get the answer. And so God really spoke to me and confirmed like yeah, kyle, jessica is the one I want you to marry, so I made that commitment.
Speaker 2:So from that point.
Speaker 1:That was like real. That was the first time God ever spoke to me Really, yeah.
Speaker 2:Amazing. And how long was that? How many years ago was that?
Speaker 1:That was about eight years ago. Yeah, so we've been married six. We had a two year engagement and I proposed on our one year anniversary. Wow, that's amazing.
Speaker 2:I knew I had month three yeah. So what's the family? Like life like now?
Speaker 1:It's the best. I got a beautiful two daughters. I got a four month old and a four year old and we live out on a ranch family ranch we're developing, so we got 40 acres. We're going to be doing some ministry work through, have a little wedding venue and we want to do like some ancient Bible school. We want to teach people how to garden, teach people how to deal with animals and, yeah, just really get people reconnected back with God and back into nature.
Speaker 2:Sounds incredible. Wow, that's amazing. I just love that. Your story really going from this journey and then coming to California and then now you finding your wife and starting your family, and it's like these dreams are now coming to fruition. And now you're here. So what was kind of the next stepping stone in your life and calling and journey with God?
Speaker 1:Yeah, a year ago God spoke to me and spoke hard, spoke very loud and clear. So I was trying to figure out like what's marketing empire group? You know, like what is this agency? When I first started it is I just want to build my empire. I want to build my empire, I want to make as much money as I can, I want to provide as many jobs as I can, build a team, build a culture. And so one day I was just like Lord, what do you want? Kind of like shifted, like what do you want? That's a powerful question.
Speaker 1:And so I started getting all these ideas and I was just in the office one day it was after hours I had one employee left in the office, abel, and I go hey, bro, here, grab my phone real quick, I need you to record a video. I thought it was going to be like a 30 second video. I said, all right, marketing empire groups got a whole new vision, guys. And then I just start getting these revelations. Like God just started revealing stuff and it just started like pouring out of my heart of what's happening what his vision for marketing empire group was. It was all about like technology. I'll share the link actually in this video so people could watch it. It was the most raw video I've ever made. It was very emotional and it was really the whole.
Speaker 1:To sum up, the video it was a 14 minute video that was supposed to be 30 seconds turned into me revealing, like where we're going as a generation with the technology, the iPad, babysitters, how we've gotten so disconnected from nature, disconnected from God, and we're just living in this world of distractions.
Speaker 1:We're in these concrete jungles in the city and we don't have that influence of nature and God and producing our own crops and growing our own food on that life that our great grandparents or great great grandparents used to live. And so that broke my heart, as God was like revealing all of this to me and seeing where we're going as a society and how we've gotten so far away from like the root, like Adam and Eve were placed in a garden. How did we get so far away from the garden? And so he revealed all of that to me, and so after that, the next day, I showed my team that video. Isaac probably remembers very, very clearly. I'm like all right, guys, this is what we're doing, this is the plan, and I still didn't even know what all of that meant, like it was like when God revealed something to you on that magnitude and with me I got ADHD.
Speaker 2:So I'm all over the place already.
Speaker 1:You guys know I was just trying to like put the puzzle together. I was trying to figure out, like what is this? What does that even mean? I don't even know. I'd made a 14 minute video of just all sorts of stuff and then it was like a six month journey of God revealing what that purpose is for my life. And so it started with me driving down, showed the team the video that same day. We're going to Malibu to go camping with my family and with the in-laws.
Speaker 1:So we're driving down, we're driving through LA and we passed Los Angeles times and I look over and God tells me in that soft, quiet voice is this Kyle, you don't own a marketing company, you own a media company. Wow, and you're just as powerful as the Los Angeles Times. Come on so good. I was like wow, that is powerful. And I didn't even really know, like, what it meant at the time. I just knew like that's big.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's incredible. So we get there, we're camping time for bed, jumping the tent, my daughter's in the RV with grandma and grandpa, it's me, my wife, laying in the tent, and I'm just praying. You know, god's really been speaking to me like the last two days and I'm just Lord, what do you want? What's your purpose? What? What am I here? What do you want from me? Here I am, send me. I have a Timothy Right here.
Speaker 2:Here I am send me.
Speaker 1:And so, as I'm praying, I start feeling just really connected to God. As I'm listening to the crickets and frogs, I'm listening to the wind blow through the trees and turned into like a Orchra of God just singing to me, and it got louder and louder and the waves are crashing in the back and I'm just God was literally singing to me and I felt so much peace. I've never felt peace like that in my life. I just laid there and I was just living in that moment and I was just still right, still and know that I'm God, and I was just still in that moment, so much peace. And God tells me. He said Kyle, grab your phone and open up your Bible app.
Speaker 1:And I hadn't read my Bible for months been a long time and so I open up my Bible app and Just click on verse of the day, and it was first Chronicles 16, and I'm gonna I'm actually I'm gonna share a little bit. It's a it's a very long one, so you guys should read it. But this first Chronicles 16 and it starts here they brought the Ark of God and placed it inside the special tent David had prepared for it. I'm laying in my tent, I'm like, oh man, god speaking to me now.
Speaker 1:All right, let's go. And they presented burnt offerings and peace offerings to God and then going down. Like I said, I'm not gonna read the whole thing, but want to just summarize real quick. First, chronicles 1623 let the whole earth sing to the Lord each day, proclaim the good news that he saves, publish his glorious deeds among the nation, tell everyone about the amazing things he does. Wow, publish, come on. He just told me, I don't have a marketing company, I have a media company. Wow, I need to publish. Yeah, and so I. It started coming together. I started understanding, like, okay, I see, I get it.
Speaker 2:I love them, god brings confirmation to our purpose and calling it destiny. And when God speaks through his word, it's so profound.
Speaker 1:It is. It's so powerful. And then when he, when he makes you cry, like he made me cry right here. First Chronicles 1631 let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice. Till all the nations, the Lord reigns. Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise. Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy. Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth.
Speaker 1:I Started falling, I was crying hysterically. I'm literally there reading it. I'm shaking. I was, I was, my whole body was shaking, I was trembling. I was like, oh, I'm just crying. And my wife wakes up and she's like what is going on? I'm like God is speaking to me. It's like 1, 1, 30, now almost 2 am. I'm like we got to go for a walk. We're in our tan, the whole campground, everyone sleep, and I'm not trying not to wake everyone up, you know like we got to go for a walk, babe. So we walk down to the beach and I just read this passage to her first Chronicles 16. We're ready to her like four or five times. Just read it and read it. I'm just crying, just reading. She would have thought I was crazy if she wasn't a believer too, and so that was when God had like, woke me up. He's like all right, kyle, time to play ball. Come on time to play ball. It's time to get back in the game. You've been sleeping for too long, wow.
Speaker 2:And so you had this personal experience, this personal encounter where you were reading the word and God met you in that place and Began to speak with you and just to confirm things about your life, and so what it? What was kind of the Afterwards? What did that? Just as far as your purpose, you're calling your destiny, how did that lead you towards where you are now?
Speaker 1:Yeah. So I went through six months roughly, for about four to six months of just distractions between work trying to scale a marketing agency, hiring employees. You know everything that that goes with it life. We have the ranch, we're trying to do development. During that time I was in some turmoil with my dad and he was one of my business partners. We've done a lot of real estate investing together for about eight years now and we're just we're a button heads. The enemy was on attack. My parents had just gone through a divorce recently. Before that my grandmother just passed away. Got all these businesses, got so much going on, just a lot of distractions and the enemy he's. He's really good at trying to distract you and take away. You know what God has for you. So it was during that season. And so four to six months of just distractions. And then I'll never forget one day one of my, my marketing consultants, jason, which you know, jason, he, he just brought on a client, another Jason, jason Conway from Magna Therm shout out to him he's amazing.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so he, he's on his way out. They just did their marketing consultation. They're getting ready to launch the marketing campaign. And I'm just talking to him and he just starts read my mail, not like what's good, I've never met you before. Like how do you know?
Speaker 2:I'm so, for those that don't know, what does that mean to you? As far as read my mail, what is that mean?
Speaker 1:Yeah. So he just gave me a prophetic word and started just speaking into my life and started revealing stuff in my heart that I didn't even know was there. He was just. God was speaking through him. So he gave me a prophetic word and what he revealed to me that there was some pride in my heart. And so, through the situation with my dad and even with, you know, my company, I was trying to control the situation rather than giving it to God and letting God handle it right, and so that was kind of where the pride had stemmed from was me trying to control everything, like I'm, like I can control everything right. And so I went home that night and I'm on my porch and I hadn't done this forever.
Speaker 1:I used to, every night, just pray for forgiveness, forgiveness of my sins, you know, just always just clear in my heart, clear in my mind, clear my soul, and I'm just praying. Lord, please forgive me, I'm sorry. I want you, I want you to guide me, I want to stop trying to control situations. I give it to you, lord, and God tells me Kyle, grab your phone, open up the Bible app. So I go inside, I grab my phone and I'll go back outside. I'm on my porch.
Speaker 1:Verse of the day 32 is my number. Come on, that was my football number my whole life growing up. 32 my basketball number, that's my number. Open up my Bible app. Verse of the day Psalms 32. Okay, all right, lord, I know how you work. You got her. You got her number dialed in. Huh, I'm just gonna read this quick part.
Speaker 1:So, psalms 32, up there on the porch praying for forgiveness. It's another Psalm of David. A God has really spoken to me through the story of David. It's been a common denominator, to say the least. So, psalm 32, oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty. When I refuse to confess my sin, my body wasted away and I groaned all day long and I felt that, day and night, your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. So, true, man, I had no strength at that time. Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and I stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself I will confess my rebellion to the Lord and you forgave me. All my guilt is gone.
Speaker 2:Wow, come on, that's amazing. What I love about that is that God is speaking to you in your faith journey. That God is I mean through your personal experience, through your personal encounter with him in Malibu, and then also I mean throughout the challenges of life. And then God brings certain people into your life, like Jason, to give you a word of encouragement and to kind of give you this prophetic perspective that it's not about trying to control everything, not about you just making things happen with your own natural strength and your own natural ability, and because this world it's just filled with so much fear and it's like survival mode and the fruit of that is like control controlling your business and controlling all these things. But I just love when the voice of love, the voice of God, comes in and it brings so much freedom and healing and deliverance. You know, and that's amazing, that you received all that and then took it back to your own personal prayer time with God and God met you in that place in Psalm 32.
Speaker 1:In Psalm 32. And what better word could he have given me? In that moment, as I just confess my sins, I'm on my porch giving it all to the Lord, praying and confessing, like there was not any more perfect scripture he could have given me. Right, and it's the living word. It's the living word of God and it really is living. And God will speak to you. Yeah, if you, if you're open to listen. And so to the next day. I called Jason, my, you know, our consultant. I call him in my office and I was going to talk to him about some cell stuff. And we end up in this conversation and I started sharing this story with him and I read Psalm 32. And as I finished reading Psalm 32, I look up and he's balling and I'm like what's going on? He's like Kyle, you won't believe it.
Speaker 1:I turned 32 this year and my pastor gave me Psalms 32, seven as my scripture of the year and he told me to go home and read the rest of Psalms 32. It's the last week of December. I haven't read it all year long. And you call me into your office and read it to me. Wow, I was like wow, and to back up a little bit because I missed it. I missed a piece.
Speaker 1:After God gave me that word, that night I actually went inside and I shared with my wife. I was like, hey, babe, she was sleeping, my girl was sleeping. I just had woken her up. I'm like hey, babe, you got to give it to God. You got to give it to God. Babe, give it to God, give it to God. I told her like 20 times I don't know why I was saying that at the time I had no item, like I don't know what I'm saying this, I don't know what she's like what. Why are you telling me this? And I said I don't know what. What do you have to give to God? And she says well, I've been really worried lately about everything that's going on with the ranch, worried about you, worried about our situation. I'm really worried. And I said babe, who of you, by worrying, could add a single second to your life? I said you got to give it to God.
Speaker 1:And then the next word that popped out on my mouth was God is going to build our house. God is going to build our house. He's going to establish us here on the land. He's going to bring your family and build their house and then he's going to send me across the nation to bring church leaders together. And I was like I wanted to take those words back real quick.
Speaker 1:And before I could say another word, I start laughing hysterically, laying in bed, cracking up in my life. Why is it? Like what's going on? I was like couldn't say anything, I'm just laughing hysterically.
Speaker 1:For five minutes it was like God was holding my tongue, like literally, and I had to get up out of bed and I was pacing up and down the hallway and I'm just like whoo, because I was just laughing five minutes, legitimately, five minutes straight. And I was just like Lord, what is going on? Like having another encounter with the spirit. And he tells me he says, kyle, rephrase how you're going to say that that goes against what I just revealed to you. And I was like okay.
Speaker 1:So I go back in the room and I'm like, hey babe, she would think I'm really crazy if she wasn't a believer. Hey, babe, I can't tell you what I was going to say, because that goes what? Against what God just revealed to us. I didn't know that. That's what the plans were. God just revealed that to both of us and she was just like, wow, that's amazing, like, and we both were just sitting there and we started praying and Then that next day, you know, went into the office shared with Jason. So the story just got, it just got deeper, right, and yeah, and then I ended up a week later coming out we, you had a pastor, tim From LA.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, we put on. We lead a ministry here in town. It's really a paraturch model to help bring unity to the body of Christ and to bring in different guest speakers to pour into the church. And so, anyways, we had a prophetic leader Come in and minister and it was so powerful and even to give personal prophetic encouraging words and Often it'll bring so much confirmation and really, you know, just sharing God's heart. And so what happened during that meeting?
Speaker 1:Yeah. So he, he walked up to me, gave me a prophetic word that I'm gonna go across the nation and Speak and bring people together and just be a voice for orphans and widows. And it was just more confirmation that, like the Lord wants me speaking in uniting the church, the church is a hole. And so that was just, you know, additional confirmation. So at that point, and through those experiences, that's when I full surrender to God, after experiencing that full surrender, lord, it's yours, this is all yours. This is not my company, this is not my land, not my ranch, that is not my car, this is all yours. Lord, I'm just a steward. Here I am, send me, I will steward. Any blessing that you want to bless me with, I'll do right by you, I'll do right by the people. Anything that you want, lord, bring it and I'll steward.
Speaker 2:That's amazing, and you know it's incredible because, really, jesus said my yoke is easy, my burden is light. And I think in society and so many watching maybe carrying heavy burdens and just Overwhelmed with the stress and the challenges of life. And so what would you share with them as just a message of encouragement from your journey, from your adventure of faith and now God bringing you to this point of surrender? What would you share as a word of encouragement for the listeners.
Speaker 1:So the biggest thing is full surrender to God. He already knows every crevice in your heart. He knows all the sins you're trying to hide, that you think you're getting away with. He knows your struggles. He knows the trials and tribulations that you're facing. He knows past, present and future. Give it to him. Don't try to hold it, don't hold the pride, don't try to control every situation. Like really truly lean into God, give it to God. And we're human, right, like we are flesh and spirit. So the flesh is, it's gonna be there, right? We? That's what we're battling, and so just understanding, like, when I'm in the flesh, I have to make sure that I'm in the spirit more and I'm leaning into the spirit, not leaning into the flesh. And so that's the biggest thing is really just lean on God, trusting God and give everything to God. That's the biggest thing.
Speaker 2:That's so amazing, I love that, and so if you're going through some challenges, just in your family life, in your business life, whatever it is, you know God is available and he wants to speak to you through his word and even through nature like you encountered you, you know, in camping in Malibu and even through through others. God wants to bring these divine appointments, these relationships, into your life and get you plugged into a church and really grow in God, and so we just hope that, through Kyle's amazing story, that this can really inspire you and fuel your faith to really rise up and to go after your purpose and calling in destiny and be free from the heaviness and the burdens of life, that you can live this surrendered life in God as well 100%.
Speaker 1:And the truth is, we're in this generation it's this technology generation, right, and having the ranch, like God has given us this vision there and doing the ministry work and everything that we want to do, but really like the main goal is to use the platform that we have here, use this media company, you know, marketing empire group to be able to spread the good news and spread the message. And so personal testimonies are everything, they're everything. The Bible is full of personal testimonies, right, and eyewitnesses of what Jesus did, and that's what we're called to do. We're not called to go smack people over the head with a Bible and tell them hey, scripture says this, this. And then it's like we're called to share the love of Christ and what Christ has done in our life, and so I'm on a mission to help encourage, inspire and motivate people to grow closer to Christ through sharing their personal testimonies.
Speaker 1:And that's why we're doing this podcast is we want to get people's testimonies so they can go share with their family, they can share with their friends, they can share with the people in their community of what God has done in their lives. Right, and then a step further God's blessed us with an amazing team to be able to push this media out and to really like send that message out. And so what I would love to do is just speak across stages across the nation, go to different churches any church leader that would have me there. I would love to come speak to your church Number one, equip them with you know how to share their testimony. And then number two, how to spread out the testimony. And so I think technology is a tool for us to use to spread the message of God.
Speaker 1:And so posting on social media like stop posting meme posts about random like mumbo jumbo posts about, yeah, cat videos no more cat videos get rid of those posts about Jesus, posts about what God has done in your life. If you're going to post a meme, post a scripture meme. You know like we have these tools and I don't think that the church is very well equipped today and I want to change that. So that's what I'm on. A mission is to equip the church on how to use social media to share and influence this world to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Speaker 2:So powerful. Release it through this digital age that we're in, that your voice matters and it's just powerful because we believe like we've already received testimonies and stories how this podcast has impacted people's lives. We actually just got a report of someone that listened to the Feeling Faith podcast and actually they were going through a crisis, went through a DUI and a divorce, and they were so inspired that the podcast actually provoked them to go join a local church, to get born again and to join their church. And so we want to encourage you to share you know that to repost and to share. We want to flood the internet with the good news of the gospel and the testimonies how people's lives are being transformed.
