Fueling Faith
God is breaking down walls between believers through worship and revival.
Have you ever felt the disconnect between God's promises and your current circumstances? Joel Mott's faith journey might just restore your hope. From singing in Ohio farm fields to leading worship revivals on California beaches, Joel's story reveals what happens when ordinary believers refuse to give up on divine promises.
In this deeply personal conversation, Joel shares the pivotal moment when God interrupted his directionless college years with a clear calling to worship ministry. Despite having minimal musical training, he embraced this unexpected purpose only to face crushing disappointment when his ministry dreams seemed to collapse. The emotional turning point came one night as he punched a fence in frustration, demanding answers from God about failed promises—a raw honesty that ultimately led to breakthrough.
What emerged from this crisis was the "California Will Be Saved" movement, which has now reached 35 cities with a simple but powerful formula: worship Jesus publicly, proclaim the gospel boldly, and watch God move. Joel describes unforgettable beach gatherings where hundreds of strangers encountered Christ, with many being baptized in the ocean. The stories of transformation continue to multiply years later, with new disciples now raising up others.
Our conversation reveals striking parallels between this modern worship movement and King David's establishment of continuous worship before the Ark of the Covenant—how prioritizing God's presence transformed ancient Israel and can do the same today. Joel emphasizes that true revival dissolves denominational walls as believers unite around the throne.
For anyone struggling with purpose or questioning if God's promises will ever materialize, this episode offers a timely reminder: sometimes our greatest disappointments become the launching pad for God's most extraordinary work. The divine story is bigger than our setbacks, and persistence through testing seasons yields fruit beyond imagination.
Welcome to the Feeling Faith Podcast. I'm here with my guest, joel Mott. Yay, joel, doing big things for the kingdom. Yes, yeah, worship leader, co-founder of California, will Be Saved. You guys are coming to Temecula, we are. You're on tour.
Speaker 2:Excited yeah, first time.
Speaker 1:Making moves. You guys were just in LA too.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:Making huge impact during, like some, chaotic times too right, yeah, we were. Yeah, that's awesome, man. Obviously, the work that you're doing is, you know, for the Lord and for His glory and its impact, yeah, so we love it. So, yeah, appreciate you coming out here. Thanks for having me, bro, making the drive, excited to hear your story. Yes, and, yeah, just hear what God's done in your life. So we're going to start all the way many, many years ago.
Speaker 2:Here we go.
Speaker 1:The year you were born. What year was it?
Speaker 2:It was perfect because I just had a long road trip. Last night I was in Las Vegas and we were driving until like 2 in the morning. Last night I got to share some of the stories from my childhood, so it's like fresh on my mind right now. This is a great timing, but I was born in 1997. So you can do the math, figure out how old I am. Crazy, I don't feel like I'm 28, but I'm approaching 30. And it's a little bit scary, but also new, anointing, right, like new levels. So yeah, just like that, born in 97. My parents were um full-time missionaries at the time, so they came back to california to have me, but then went straight back. They were in europe and, uh, the czech republic actually.
Speaker 2:So my first year of life was in czech that's cool sadly don't remember any of it because I was a baby, but yeah that's still a cool experience, my grandpa was actually czech, so really, yeah, let's go.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:That's it. So we were in Czech mostly but went all over Europe too that year and then they settled back in Pasadena, california after that and we were there for a number of years, got connected. It was actually a really strategic time in the late 90s there in Pasadena. We were part of Harvest Rock Church there and Lou Engle was there he's just one of my heroes in the prayer movement was praying how can we turn America back to God in those days? And it ended up launching this whole movement called the Call in the year 2000.
Speaker 2:So, some of my first memories were at the Call with. I mean that first gathering in dc was. There was like 450 000 people that gathered to the national mall well in 2000. That's phenomenal so I'm like a three-year-old kid, you know. So my first memories being registered are out on the national mall in dc, with this huge gathering, and it's all about praying and fasting for god to. You know, save our nation and turn america back to him.
Speaker 2:So, it was a marking moment there. And then we were in Pasadena and there were these revival meetings happening in this building called Mott Auditorium, which is so funny because it's my name, it's my dad's name, Mott, but no, no direct correlation. It was named after John R Mott, who wasa integral piece in the student volunteer missions movement. So we don't know that we're related. We don't think we are.
Speaker 1:No, your pops, God knew your pops was coming. You were coming Exactly. There's a significant connection there.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's just one of those God coincidence right.
Speaker 1:God knew exactly A coincidence is God's way to remain anonymous.
Speaker 2:I like that.
Speaker 1:That's my saying. I like that.
Speaker 2:That's my saying I like that, it's true.
Speaker 1:I stole it from somebody.
Speaker 2:That's a good one. Yeah, so we were there in Mott Mott Auditorium in Pasadena. In those days there were like these revival meetings happening, so really special memories there in Pasadena. But then we moved down to Orange County, pasadena. But then we moved down to Orange County and then my dad had this crazy idea to get out of kind of the rat race of Southern California and move to the middle of nowhere Amish country, ohio.
Speaker 2:He's from Ohio love it um smart move and yeah, and we had an organic produce farm for nine years in the middle of nowhere Ohio wow and uh, so into that lifestyle right there yeah I'm developing a little family ranch.
Speaker 1:We got 40 acres out here that we're developing. Bro, I'm all about it. I think we need to bring that back yeah, we do local farming yes like super important bro yeah, no it is.
Speaker 2:We learned so much. Obviously through that experience there's so much work. Yeah, I learned a ton about just the food industry, where our food comes from, the true cost of food. You know we're trying to make a living off of this. Uh, you know, selling our organic fruits and vegetables and so what did you guys grow? Literally everything dude, like anything you can imagine honestly tomatoes, yeah, cucumbers yeah onion, all of it all of it
Speaker 2:lettuce all the literally, yeah, all of it and different varieties of all of those things. Right, like I didn't even know that till, like we started the farm, like, right, we were growing at one point a hundred different varieties of just tomatoes well, can't believe that, that's amazing. So, like purple, red, pink, it's all organic all organic. That was my dad's vision no pesticides, pesticides, no chemicals, you know people don't know how hard that is.
Speaker 1:No, yeah, that's hard.
Speaker 2:Yeah, cause the pests come and start eating stuff and the deer come, or whatever.
Speaker 1:That's hard. Yes, the enemy comes. That's why it's more. That's why it costs more at the store.
Speaker 2:Exactly.
Speaker 1:And then you and now with like uh regulations and everything. You have to be a certain distance away from other farms because of the pesticides and everything. Right so it's hard work.
Speaker 2:It is.
Speaker 1:No joke, and just being a farmer alone is a hard work.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Props to your pops.
Speaker 2:Exactly so. A lot of good memories, but hard memories too, like just working hard in the fields, and that was a lot of my childhood, from when I was eight years old till all the way till high school, like until I was like 17. We had that farm.
Speaker 1:So during that time do you have any siblings?
Speaker 2:Yeah, two younger brothers. One of them was born there, on the farm Nice. Yeah, in a manger, yeah almost right there in our house. Yeah, almost right there in our house.
Speaker 1:That's awesome. So two siblings, you mom, dad pops Yep and you guys were. They were not missionaries at that time, they kind of.
Speaker 2:No, yeah, the whole focus was the farm and building that business. Yeah, exactly A new mission.
Speaker 1:Love it, and so you grew up in the church then.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they were always believers so I'm really thankful for that. They always loved the Lord. So I had that foundation. But there were definitely hard moments on the farm too. We were very isolated, you know, kind of out in the middle of nowhere. So there was a church about 45 minute drive that we would try to go to, a vineyard church, actually love those people there and you know, but we didn't make it every Sunday. It was pretty far away. So yeah, it was like kind of a roller coaster most of my childhood, spiritually, or kind of just going through the motions. You know, I know God's probably real, I think he loves me, maybe I'll squeak into heaven one day. But that's about as deep as it got for most of my childhood.
Speaker 1:I find that interesting because that seems to be a common theme for people that do grow up in the church.
Speaker 2:Right.
Speaker 1:Is that they don't really have that direct connection. And some people do, but other people they don't experience it.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And then they go through trials and tribulations and hardships and, you know, maybe they walk away. So I'm excited to hear more of your story. I know there's some hardships in here and some different seasons.
Speaker 2:No, it's an interesting dynamic, right Like you have these certain people that have these radical testimonies of just being totally rebellious and addiction, addiction and drugs and all this this immorality, right, right. And then there's kind of this other group of us, church kids yeah that, you know, some of us still spiral out and get rebellious. But then there's this other group that I've. I even I've talked to some recently. It was like, yeah, I didn't really have a full-on rebellion, I just wasn't burning right which I was just talking to one of my friends about this yesterday.
Speaker 2:Like burning which. I was just talking to one of my friends about this yesterday. Like the, the sin of being complacent and lukewarm is just as bad as being like remember, jesus said that in the book of revelation like, if you're lukewarm I'm going to spit you out of my mouth, you know? So it's not really. You can't really compare. It's like are we hot or cold? So I had to come to that moment in my life where Jesus got a hold of me and he encountered me and I realized I was not living wholeheartedly. I was kind of riding on my parents' coattails with their faith, and he just got a hold of me in the best way and showed me his love.
Speaker 1:And what season was that? What was that moment where you're like, okay, I want more of you?
Speaker 2:Yep, I was 20 years old, I had just finished my sophomore year of college and my parents actually, the farm came to an end a little bit before that and they were transitioning back to California. We're all in Pasadena there now. So all of a sudden, I'm spending my summer back in California and I'm around these people that are just on fire for the Lord and getting reconnected with some of the community that we knew from way back years ago. And so I find myself in this meeting with like 200 young people from all over America. We're in this little room and we're just crying out to God for revival. There's just this anointing and worship.
Speaker 2:You know, by the grace of God, I stumbled into this meeting, right, and I was actually like doing like lyrics for the worship in the back of the room, like on the PowerPoint, and um, I just get totally wrecked Like God just touches me and Holy Spirit, you know, speaks to me and says there's a calling over your life, joel. And that was my. That was always. My struggle was like I didn't know what my purpose was.
Speaker 1:Right.
Speaker 2:You know, maybe someone out there can relate. Like you, you maybe don't have a burning passion for any, like certain field. You know God's real, but what is that thing that you're made for? You know, and is there a fire in your soul? And I never really had that until I was 20 years old. God meets me in this moment and in his grace, because he knows us so well. He knows everything about us right, so he knew. One of the first things that he spoke to me was Joel. There's a calling, there is a purpose right.
Speaker 2:And that's exactly what I needed to hear from him, because I was spiraling in purposelessness. And what is my? Do I have any passions? I'm just kind of going through the motions. I love basketball.
Speaker 2:So I was playing basketball at my small Christian college. You know, trying to figure it out. That's not going anywhere. You know, like God, what is my purpose on this earth? Why am I here? And he said there's a calling, joel, but there's also a cost. And will you give it all? You know, and I knew in that moment that I was going to lay it all down. I said, Jesus, I'm giving you 100%. I don't want to just be 50% in, 50% out. I know that you're speaking to me right now. I want to be fully in for this thing that you've called me to. And then he said there's something about music. You're called to advance my kingdom through worship and through music. And that blew my mind, because I actually always loved music. I started playing the piano when I was like 12. My mom taught me the basics on there and I was always singing. That's the funny thing about being on the farm is I wasn't really, it wasn't super spiritual, but I was always singing like out in the fields.
Speaker 1:Oh, you were connected.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Connected with the Lord.
Speaker 2:That's the best place is on the farm to be connected with God. In the hard times out there sweating, picking tomatoes, me and my brother we were out there just singing at the top of our lungs and I really enjoyed it. But I never thought there was any like eternal purpose with it. It was just kind of like something I enjoyed, it was like a cool hobby. So in that moment now I'm 20 years old God shows that to me that there's a this eternal, like kingdom purpose with music and with worship and advancing his kingdom through it. I was like mind blown, you know, like whoa. I never saw that before, you know. So that year I picked up a guitar, started learning just the basic chords, you know oh, at 20 years old at 20 yeah dang.
Speaker 1:So you weren't even in like a. You weren't part of worship teams or nothing. No, I was just a random college kid dang yeah okay.
Speaker 2:So I picked up a guitar, started, went back to college one more year out in the middle of nowhere, ohio small school what'd you go to school for? Uh, I ended up declaring as an intercultural studies major. Okay, so I enjoyed that a lot.
Speaker 1:What did you want?
Speaker 2:to do Basketball.
Speaker 1:Basketball Okay.
Speaker 2:Like the only purpose I had for my life in high school was basketball, as well, did you play any other sports? A little bit of baseball in high school, but basketball was my main thing.
Speaker 1:What positions you play.
Speaker 2:Like one or two guard, nice, you know kind of flip-flop both.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, love it.
Speaker 2:So that was my only purpose right in college, first couple years of college, and then God totally changes everything. I go back one more year to college and I'm like a different person and I start leading like these small prayer and worship meetings on my campus. It and worship meetings on my campus. It's just like a few of us, you know, and I'm learning the guitar at that point, but I'm just falling in love with Jesus and worship. So anyway, that was kind of that first initial kind of moment with the.
Speaker 2:Lord right, Like he just changed everything. I realized he was a lot more real than I thought. You know, I don't know if you guys ever had those moments where you come in contact with like the man with fire in his eyes and you're like, oh, shoot, like you're actually real.
Speaker 2:And it's like a fear of the Lord moment, like you see the burning desire and the passion and the jealousy for your life. You know the, the calling on your. Only you can fulfill that calling that he's placed on your life. Right, I felt that fear of the Lord in that moment. It was like I'm all in, jesus, I'm all in, take me, take me. I don't have any, and it's not working anyway. Right, that's the fun part.
Speaker 1:It's not going. I ain't going to the league, so this might be a better option.
Speaker 2:Yeah, better option.
Speaker 1:Yeah, exactly, bro, that's awesome, so good yeah, no, I think it's really good and you brought up a good point, especially for you know listeners is you don't really know when you're that age, bro, 20 years old, you're young. You don't know what you want to do, you don't you don't really know what your purpose is in life. Some some kids might, but most don't yeah you're still really trying to figure things out.
Speaker 1:You don't know what career you want to move into. The world's telling you you got to do this, you got to do that, you got to go to school, you got to go here like your parents yeah, they're paying playing that influence on you and everyone's got their opinions in your life and what you should do and you're just like I'm trying to still figure out who I am right literally.
Speaker 1:So I think that's a good point, because I didn't even find out till I was, you know, 30 years old, what my, like real, actual purpose was. Right, you know I'm 32 now, I'll be 33 in a couple months, yeah, um, so you found, started finding that at 20. But even once I started finding my purpose, it took years of like god slow, like an onion right, like slowly peeling back the layers and revealing revealing, revealing, revealing. And now it's like, okay, I see what my God assigned purpose is now?
Speaker 1:Um, so I think that's awesome. So, 20 years old, you pick up the guitar, you start playing music and then, and then what?
Speaker 2:Yeah. Then something wild happens, like God starts speaking to me about revival and, um, you know, here I am. I'm a junior now at my school and and I'm praying like God, what is the move for me? Because I never. College for me was never really about like getting a certain degree and getting into a certain, you know, field of work. It was like just trying to figure out my life right. So here I am, three years in like now God has encountered me. I'm asking Him, like what is the move here? And he starts to speak to me about revival on the West coast and how I need to be there for it. And so, just through a series of confirmations, I was praying really hard, I was fasting that summer. You know, like God, where, where am I to go? And, um, he leads me back to Pasadena. My parents had just moved back there too, so that was part of it.
Speaker 2:But I joined a discipleship school there in Pasadena called Ekbalo. That's a Greek word for like, send, from like Matthew 9, where Jesus says the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send, or Ekbalo laborers, which is like it has this violent connotation. It's like this very intentional, like hurling forth laborers in which is like it has this violent connotation. It's like this very intentional, like hurling forth laborers in the harvest field. Um, it's actually the same as a tangent, but it's the same word that Jesus uses when he's describing the casting out of demons. So we like to say, like when Jesus casts out a demon, a demon's got to go, right. Yeah, in the same way, when jesus sends a laborer, or it follows a laborer, the laborer has to go. So that's part of what the school is all about is praying that prayer. But then I'll. It's so funny, like at the same time, like being willing to be the answer to your own prayers right, like you just said, here I am, lord, send me.
Speaker 2:So, anyway, that's where I was. This is now 2018. Joined that school, I'm getting trained. We're, you know, growing in our character and community and developing. There's like a worship school connected to the program too. So developing, you know, my voice and songwriting and leading prayer sets and worship nights. It was amazing. We're fasting and praying and I realized I wasn't the only one getting these words and these dreams for revival in California. God was depositing this to a whole company of people, and so we were leaning into those words, like God do it in our generation. Another Jesus movement in our day, another outpouring of your spirit, even like azusa street. It was one of my favorite revivals to read about, right, right here in california, los angeles. So we were praying into all these words and it was amazing. It's. It's incredible. We're growing, we're doing worship nights. We're in back there in my auditorium, which is this, you know, place where my family has all this history, but even beyond my family, like our spiritual fathers, there's like churches that have met in there lou engel, the call, harvest rock, some of our just like spiritual lineage, you know yeah had really connected to that place there and of course it's, it's my, it's my name yeah
Speaker 2:and I've just felt so connected to like the prophetic storyline over that campus and so it was an incredible year and then it all just shuts down. This is like. This is what I want people to understand, like the hardships, right of life, absolutely where you get these words? You get these profound words that you feel like are from the lord and they probably are from the lord but then what do you do when they all get tested and it all shuts down? We got kicked out of that building. The campus goes up for sale and it's sold to a secular organization and they start doing construction on the campus, put an ugly pink fence up around the whole place. Right, I live next to the campus. I see all this happening like before my own eyes.
Speaker 1:Every day you're just like what is going literally, yeah how how is that? Because you have so much connected to what's happening, like what god is doing in this specific yeah this specific area, like is it you got? Is like doubt setting in, like how? Like, how are you feeling emotionally at this point?
Speaker 2:yeah, no, I was. I was starting to get frustrated. You know, I was really wrestling with the lord watching that happen, getting kicked out of that building. And then what was crazy too, is the pandemic rolled around shortly after that, early 2020 right and it was kind of like this exclamation mark on that whole season of like God, what the heck.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Like I left everything, I moved here on this word about revival, breaking out these words of the corporate expression right, the gathering people coming together, the unity.
Speaker 1:That's right.
Speaker 2:And here we are now, in early 2020. It's like it couldn't be more polar opposite of those words. Everybody's being isolated, the church is shutting down, fear's running rampant across the world. We're out, we're kicked out of our building ugly pink fence, like the whole, the whole thing, like. And it was just this period of a few months wrestling with the Lord. I remember like walking out on my street one night, just fed up and just like punching the fence with all my strength late at night, and I'm just angry and I'm like yelling at god.
Speaker 1:I'm like this is not what it was supposed to be right, yeah it's not what you pictured it to be, what I pictured it to be. I think, like a good, uh, a good symbolism behind this is, like you know an artist and like god's the artist, he creates this beautiful drawing and you're like that's the most amazing picture, and then he just throws paint, a whole bucket of paint, over, and you're like, yeah, what the? Heck, man Like totally, you know.
Speaker 2:I think there's something God's doing even right now, where I mean it's 2025 now, but like even in young people, I mean it's 2025 now, but like even in young people, I think the faster that we can let God blow up our idea of who we think he is, the faster we'll actually jump into our calling and our destiny. Now, that might sound funny to say that's powerful, but I have biblical precedent for it too. Like I think of the, the story of job. That's totally what god's doing in that moment. Like you think you know me, and I think that that whole story like god is just like a battering ram, like over and over again, like just exploding that paradigm of who Job thought God was, and then we see that at the end, finally, he's like I don't even know you and God's like, yeah, exactly Now I'm going to reveal who I am to you.
Speaker 1:Let's go.
Speaker 2:And I think that that's what was happening in my life in that year 2020. Like God's, like, you think you have it all figured out, don't you? You have it all planned out. It's going to look a certain way. You moved here. It's on your timeline. This is all you, bro, you're doing it all, it's all you, and you told me that.
Speaker 1:Joel's got this.
Speaker 2:That's what he said he said it's so awesome, joel, that you were on fire for two years Like you were killing it. You were leading worship, You're fasting, you're growing in your community, you're leading prayer sets. It was amazing, bro, for two years Now what?
Speaker 1:Yeah, now it's time to test how real that was right, because he's got to allow the tests to come Exactly. We've got to have that character, growth and development.
Speaker 2:You do.
Speaker 1:We all need it, and that's why I think trials and tribulations are important, and not just important for us to experience, but important for us to appreciate. Yeah, Because that's where real character, growth and development takes place is through those trials.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and it's painful and it sucks, but like it's so true, god uses it. So that moment when I'm punching the fence, I'm yelling at God. I'm asking all these questions. Of course, I don't hear anything. It's like crickets. I'm asking all these questions.
Speaker 1:Of course I don't hear anything.
Speaker 2:It's like crickets. But I go back to my house and I realize something when I walked back in my door, like God was bringing me to a crossroads. It's like Joel, what do you really believe? And I knew that I had this decision to make. It's either I'm going to continue and I'm just going to go all in for these promises that he's given me, or I'm just going to go all in for these promises that he's given me, or I'm.
Speaker 2:I'm checking out, that's it, I'm retiring and I'm just going to live a normal life and make money and do whatever people do. I don't know what they do, but like that was. It was like a hundred or zero and it was like God is saying, which one is it, joel? And I said, oh, god, and that. So that's the thing I always love saying to people. I don't advise being negative and grumpy because we've been given a spirit of joy.
Speaker 2:As believers, this is our portion, is joy, and so I don't advise being negative and grumpy all the time, but I do advise being honest with the Lord, because that was actually a key moment for me where I was just real with the Lord and I said, god, this is so not what I thought it was going to be Help me.
Speaker 2:You've got to meet me in this place. And he so met me in that place and this grace came over me just to sign up again. I said God, I don't want to be 80 years old and I'm just grumpy and jaded and offended at the promises of God.
Speaker 1:That's not who he called me to be.
Speaker 2:That's right yeah.
Speaker 2:And the last thing on that is is in that same season, my friend actually ends up having a really powerful dream that catalyzed our whole movement. I still feel like I'm spiraling, in a good way, from this dream that he had about revival, and in the dream we were gathered together on the beach and we were worshiping God. And then Jesus appears to my friend in the dream. This is one of my friends who was in the discipleship school with me. We had led so many prayer sets and we were fasting together. And so we're gathered together on the beach, we're worshiping God. Jesus appears to him in the dream, brings him to the edge of the water and says do you hear the sound of the water? Almost, as if to ask like do you see what's coming to California and America? This is 2020. And the ground shakes the second time and Jesus says these three things. In the dream, he says the battle in the land of California has already been won. Now, in 2020, it didn't feel like we were winning at all.
Speaker 1:It felt like we were losing big time, right? Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:But what's the word of the Lord? The battle in the land of California has already been won, the ground has been prepared and now is the time for the rains of my spirit. And then a massive tsunami wave comes from the ocean and it floods the whole city and my friend wakes up out of the dream early in the morning. He sends it to me. He's like joel. I know that that way was symbolic of a wave of god's spirit that's coming to our nation let's go and it's haggai 2 which talks about the shaking right wow
Speaker 2:once more. In a little while I will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land, and what's desired by all nations will come, which is jesus. And then it talks about the glory. The latter glory will be greater than the former Right. So he sends me that dream. A wave of God's spirit is coming to our nation and tag I too. I think we got to get ready and I read that dream at my dinner table in Pasadena. And, bro, I just broke down because I knew God was speaking to me. Right after I'd had this moment of like, kind of here I am again signing up af, up afresh. Like God, I know you're speaking through this dream. I know I'm not like a professional prophet, but like you're speaking through this dream.
Speaker 1:You're tripping me out right now, bro. Hold on, hold on. I'm gonna cry tears of joy. Yes, um. So the Lord speaks to my wife through dreams and she's been telling me and this was just a couple months ago she had this reoccurring dream which is rare you don't really get reoccurring dreams and she's had this dream of this huge wave, the same exact dream that you're describing, bro.
Speaker 1:So I'm literally like tripping out right now and you're talking about the land and looking like, and we were talking about my story and testimony and what God's doing, you know, through feeling faith, through this podcast and through the movement, and what we're really looking to do to flood the internet with Jesus. Yeah, and so I got to pull this up, bro, cause this is like wow.
Speaker 1:Thank you, Jesus, and this this is like the first time we've met in person, by the way. Literally, we like this is really. This is our like first real conversation. Actually we haven't legitimately, yeah, so so check this out. So I'll share a little bit of my, my story and what you know god's kind of done in my life and how he's been speaking to me, yeah. So I'm gonna pull it up because it aligns with everything you're saying right now and and it's got to be shared, bro, come on. Oh man, so this was First Chronicles 16. So I was in my tent. I've shared the story. It's on my podcast. I'll send the link for anyone that wants to hear it. But I was in a tent in Malibu. God sings to me, confirms it through First Chronicles 16, and then gives me my mission and purpose for life.
Speaker 2:And it aligns with dude, exactly what you're saying, oh.
Speaker 1:I got to hear this, Bro. This is crazy, bro. I can't believe this right now. You're probably tripping out too. Wait, Jack.
Speaker 2:Jack's looking, he's excited Dude.
Speaker 1:So 1 Chronicles 16, 14. And I have it highlighted for anyone that can see it on the camera he is the Lord, our God. His justice is seen throughout the land. And you're talking about the land, right? He says I'll give you the land of Canaan as your special possession, and this is all symbolic. 1 Chronicles 16, 24. Publish his glorious deeds among the nations. Tell everyone about the amazing things he does. And that's what you're doing, dude, that's your movement, that's what we're doing. We have alignment there.
Speaker 1:We have a ton of alignment and you're talking about what? God's speaking through a group of people? Yeah, we're, it's true. And look, dude, these are all highlighted. This is what god highlighted to me. Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise. Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy. Dude, I was in my tent. God just sang to me. I was in my tent in malibu. I'm listening to the waves, I'm listening to the crickets, I'm listening to the wind blow through the trees. And he's singing and it's like an orchestra and it's getting louder and louder and louder. And I was just like, like almost it almost felt like an outer body experience.
Speaker 1:I don't really know what that's like, but it kind of felt like that. Like I was just connected, yeah, spiritually. And then, right here, let the trees of the forest sing for joy before the Lord, for he is coming to judge the earth, whoa. And he was singing to me, bro, like literally singing to me.
Speaker 1:No exaggeration, I was just telling you the story before I didn't share it, but now I'm divinely sharing it I guess, yeah, if, thanks to the lord, for he is good, his faithful love endures forever, cry out, save us, oh god of our salvation, gather and rescue us from among the nations, so we can thank your holy name and rejoice and praise you. And then, first, chronicles 1642. They use their trumpets, symbols and other instruments to accompany their songs of praise. Bro, that's exactly what you're doing, that's what we're doing, that's what this is, that's what these are. These are tools, these are instruments. My phone's an instrument, it's true. Huh, you're freaking guitar, you're dude, all of it, yeah, and the sons of jaduthin were appointed as gatekeepers. Then all the people returned to their homes and david turned and went home to bless his family wow bro, I gotta find it is that a parallel of passage and I know some of chronicles in second, first and second samuel kind of parallel.
Speaker 2:I just finished. I gotta catch up. I just I'm reading through first and second Samuel and then I'm into Kings now, but I'll get there soon. Yeah, but David is my hero.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's my favorite character other than Jesus yeah, god speaks to me through the story of David. Like very, very often, I share a lot in my podcast. When I share my story, let's go but dude, just the alignment yeah, oh, I don't know. That was crazy, bro, that's our mission, dude?
Speaker 2:Yeah, it is our mission. It's raising up, it's a worship movement that God's raising up right now, and I say that because what I mean by that is Malachi 1.11 prophesies about a coming day. It's this incredible promise where it says from the rising of the sun even to where it goes down, in every place, in every place, what incense will arise, which is the prayer and the worship of the saints and a pure offering.
Speaker 2:Not an impure offering. Purity, a pure offering, and the name of the Lord will be great among the nations. So I say it's a worship movement because I'm seeing this. I think if you zoom out you can see this on a broad scale, like across the earth. There's these pockets, there's these movements, these communities of worship and prayer that's increasing. That's right.
Speaker 2:And it's not random. No, it's because there's this tension building until that day when the Son of God returns, amen. There's going to be this crescendo, dude, and it's Isaiah 60, which darkness covers the earth, deep darkness the people, but behold the glory of the Lord. So we're going to see this continue over the next years. Yes, I don't know how long.
Speaker 2:Yes, just got to say get ready, yeah get ready yeah, I don't know how long the darkness may increase, yes, but behold the glory. It's both at the same time, and there's this increase of worship and prayer. Malachi 111, and that's what this passage is in Chronicles 2, of let everything, let the praise go forth on the cymbals and on the stringed instruments, and the harps, and even the crops. Let the crops cry out.
Speaker 1:It's amazing, bro, we're living in that right now, bro yeah.
Speaker 2:In a crazy moment.
Speaker 1:Wow, that's a trip. Thank you, lord.
Speaker 2:Sorry, yeah, thank you, lord, that's right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I didn't want to jump off on that Cause I want this.
Speaker 2:This is about you, bro. It's about your story and really what God's doing with you guys, that's amazing, that is amazing. So well, let me tie that in there. Yeah, that's where I was going to jump back in.
Speaker 1:Yeah, yeah, so let's, let's keep this back to. He had that he had that vision. He shared with it. Yeah, the waves are flooding through California. He reaches out to you.
Speaker 2:Yep. So I'm in that moment, I'm just wrecked, right. But I said, god, don't let me have a cute emotional moment here and I go to sleep tonight and I wake up tomorrow and just forget about this and keep living regular. He said, god, you got to ruin me again in the best way in the best way possible.
Speaker 2:Or the call, call to revival, because he had spoken that to me when I was 20 years old, a couple years prior to that, right and uh. But here I am again and, by the way, I think that's one of the most powerful prayers. Like isaiah prayed that right here I am. That's that's like so profound to me because a lot of people aren't there.
Speaker 1:Right.
Speaker 2:And you say it sounds like a simple prayer, but it's one of the things I think God can do the most with here. I am Lord, yes. I could be a thousand places right now, but here I am before you, open, broken and a contrite heart before you. Yeah Right.
Speaker 1:Dude, I got a shirt actually, and it was when I just found the Lord, and it was when I just found the lord and there's an event in huntington beach and they're giving out. There's a church giving out free shirts and on the back of it is scripture here I am, send me, come on, and so I. From that day it's been, you know, 12 years. That's my consistent prayer here I am send me yeah, I find myself in.
Speaker 1:You know certain situations, or I'm not walking it out here. I am lord, send me. Yeah, you find myself in. You know certain situations, or I'm not walking it out here.
Speaker 2:I am lord, send me yeah, you know that's it I get distracted because we get distracted bro.
Speaker 1:We get so distracted and so it's like I need to come back here.
Speaker 2:I am lord yeah here I am send me it centers you right, it does grounds you yeah so that's what was happening in this exchange now in 2020. And we started doing stuff, man. So when he called?
Speaker 1:I'm curious. Yeah, he was on the phone when he called you. He just texted that to me. Oh, he texted to you, okay.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And then what was the conversation after? Because you guys had to have jumped on a call or met face to face and really Well, I mean, I texted him back right away.
Speaker 2:I was like, dude, this is the Lord. I think he's asking us to do something. Right now in California, in one of the most unlikely seasons, right, where there's lockdowns, where everybody's offended at everybody, a lot of the church was shutting down, especially out here in California. So, but then in comes the word of the Lord. And what do we do, you know? So we started doing stuff. We were doing like house worship nights I'm not, you know, I'm just putting feelers out. Can we gather in your backyard or your garage? You know that summer and so we started doing some nights. It was really powerful.
Speaker 2:One thing led to the next. I meet my friend, ross Johnston, who started, ended up starting the movement later on I'll get there with me, but he was living in san diego at the time and we started doing this monthly worship night down there, this chapel. Just, we didn't even know them really. They just opened up their doors to us. We started doing like a young, a lot of young people were coming. We're just going after this word. And eventually I asked my friend who had the dream, his name's armando and uh, it's like dude, where were we in the dream? Do you remember, like geographically, where we were?
Speaker 2:and he said yeah, we were in huntington beach wow and so at that point I just turned to our guys. I was like we just got to do the dream, yeah right, let's go, let's like god speak, make this reality just do the dream.
Speaker 2:So now it's the summer of 21. After doing a bunch of worship nights and god was breathing on this and homes and living rooms, it it was amazing chapels and um, but eventually I'm like we got to take this outside. Let's go to the beach and just believe as we gather to cause. That was the opening scene of the dream. We're united together in worship and then it's a very like there's such a biblical precedent for this dream too, because it's Psalm 22.
Speaker 2:I will inhabit. Inhabit the praises of of my people, like god's presence falls on the united worship expression. So let's do the dream, let's get together in worship and let's believe god is going to show up, his presence is going to come, that's right, and that wave of revival is going to flood our city and spread across the nation. So we do it. We don't have resources, we don't have a following, we don't have money. We don't have anything but this word from the Lord to go to the beach and worship God and believe in the middle of one of the most, you know, crazy seasons in America that there's a better story that God's establishing in our land.
Speaker 2:And we go up I don't know where these people came from like three or four hundred people show up right there by the pier in huntington beach and we just start going for it and worship. We tried to get a permit, we didn't really know what we were doing. The city was like I don't know about that, but we just showed up anyway with a whole sound system and a whole band we just start going for it.
Speaker 2:Worship is like reverberating across the city. We preach the gospel and people are walking off the beach right, walking off the boardwalk straight into an encounter with Jesus. We had so many testimonies of people getting saved Like little. There was a little girl hugging one of our girls for like 20 minutes. She's like mom. I can't leave. I feel the presence of God here. We had like a couple repenting of sin and shortcomings in their marriage. They just have a total reconciliation moment. They repent.
Speaker 2:They get born again. We baptize them in the ocean right there, like I didn't there's too many stories to say even say like people just getting saved right there and delivered. And we baptized like a few dozen people right there in the ocean. That weekend we did two nights like that.
Speaker 1:It's like 2020, 2021 now, right, so did you guys did a video go viral on that it?
Speaker 2:might have.
Speaker 1:I think I can't even keep track anymore, just I think I had seen that on social media and it was just yeah we had a, I think one went kind of viral.
Speaker 2:One of my friends put one on tiktok and so like a bunch of young people showed up because of that video.
Speaker 1:I remember yeah, I just remember, I remember seeing, yeah, I remember seeing that 2021 yeah and I didn't, I didn't follow you. We like just got connected, right what two weeks ago?
Speaker 2:yeah, exactly, um, wow, that's super powerful so that was the first one, right, we didn't have a name or anything, but we got there that week and we're like california will be saved, meet, meet us in San Diego in two weeks, nice.
Speaker 1:Right.
Speaker 2:So, like we did the same thing two weeks later, showed up on a beach in San Diego, same are getting delivered of demonic oppression and receiving Jesus. And so that was 2021. We've been on a nonstop, really like a rampage across California the last four years. We've been to 35 cities now and God's so faithful, he just shows up. He's had us keep it really simple. We just bring worship and the proclamation of the gospel and he's so faithful to show up in every city that we've gone to. He's been there and he's saved people and he's delivered people and he's brought this activation Like some of my favorite stories are here in months, years later, even now, of people that got saved and now they're plugged into the local church and they're getting vision for their life and they're raising up other disciples and they're getting, you know, this mantle for worship and bringing it outside and yeah, so anyway, bro, just there's so much I could say there, but god's here, like what I always charge young people especially and old, but but I'm, I'm 28.
Speaker 2:I always love telling, like Gen Z, like just stick around, don't give up too soon. Like you don't know what God's doing behind the scenes, the divine underworkings of your life, in these moments of testing. That's right. Right. Just stick around and don't give way to skepticism and doubt.
Speaker 2:It's okay to be honest, you can ask hard questions he loves that but don't give way too soon to unbelief and doubt, because God's doing something. He's forming this tenacity and this depth of faith right In these moments of testing. And I look back now and I'm just so wrecked by God's faithfulness and how he's steadied me and my team through these hard moments, right and now. How we're starting to step into these promises being fulfilled really is what it is, and it's not just because of me and my team. It's because people have labored for years and decades my spiritual fathers and mothers for this moment we're in right now. That's right Like we have to see it that way right, even going back to generations like God's unfolding this divine, redemptive storyline over the earth. Right now we get to be a part of it that's truth.
Speaker 1:We have such a huge opportunity, brother. That story is amazing, um, and I'm sure you have a million testimonies of things that you can share, but we have such a huge opportunity, especially through, through media, you know yeah social media just through online and the internet, and what we're able to do and the impact we're able to make um and so what you guys are doing is it's life-changing. And there's so many other testimonies you haven't even, you don't even know I know, like you don't even know that ripple effect?
Speaker 2:I think it's.
Speaker 1:That's true and you look back to that pink fence and that season that God, you thought was closing doors Right. And he said I ain't closing doors, I'm just taking you out of the building and I'm putting you into the streets. I'm putting you into the farm because now it's time to start planting, watering, yeah, and reaping.
Speaker 2:Let's go oh, he's so faithful man, so this year we're on this. I don't know how long you want to keep going. Yeah, how much time.
Speaker 1:We got, bro, 50 minutes, all right, so like what?
Speaker 2:10, 15 more minutes all right, we're in a little bit of a swirl here today. This is cool.
Speaker 1:This is exciting.
Speaker 2:Thanks for having me on here, bro. This is so fun.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it is I just wanted to share this one thing to connect it to the King David mantle, because God was speaking to me at the end of 2024, where you know we've been going hard the last three, four years. At that point I was praying in October and I was like God, what's coming to America? And it was early October. The elections are ramping up, things are getting intense and I'm just like God, give me a glimpse of what's coming to America, which I think some of us should be more sneaky like that with the Lord, interact with the holy spirit like he knows all things right, like give me a glimpse. I don't have to have the whole picture, but what is coming, it's the prophetic call.
Speaker 1:Let me peek yeah, like a christmas present, you know?
Speaker 2:yeah, exactly, yeah so I'm praying that in my room and immediately, bro, like I see this vision just in my spirit. I've never had an open like, like open-eyed vision. Maybe God will give that to me. That'd be, that'd be amazing. But I get these like visions just in my spirit. I don't know if that makes sense. Like I see this, like in my mind's eye, the Holy Spirit brings me this picture of like open heavens over America and I heard the sound of rain, like a thick. I don't know if you guys ever been in like a one of those thunderstorms, you know where it's just like a torrential outpouring of rain. I heard that sound where it's kind of scary, but it's also like exciting and peaceful at the same time, right. So I'm hearing that, I'm seeing this and immediately the Lord brought me to King David's life, because I knew that this rain was connected to the worship movement that God was both purifying and expanding in our land, right? So purity, like I just said, malachi 111, a pure offering.
Speaker 2:But I thought of King David, because he initiated a worship movement in his generation. Like, if you zoom out and you look at this thing, yeah, like he raised up a worship movement in his day that in turn ended up totally transforming the nation of israel, right like when he stepped into kingship after saul. The nation is kind of going up in flames. It's starting to spiral. Saul, you know, ends up committing suicide, basically, and the nation is like in turmoil. There's a lot of corruption going on. David finally, after all these years of testing right, talk about testing stepped into kingship and the first thing he does is he locates the abandoned Ark of the Covenant, brings it out of the forest, goes on this whole journey, bringing it back to the center of Jerusalem. That's that story of him dancing around before the ark of the covenant in his underwear and his wife's in the palace judging him. I'll be even more undignified than this he says, but he keeps marching it straight in with all this guy this is him and 30 000 of his men. Like this is a big deal.
Speaker 2:On day one of his administration, he's marching god's presence. He's got an assignment on his life and he sets up his tabernacle, assigns thousands of the most skilled singers and musicians from across the land to minister to God's presence day and night. This is how he sets up his administration and what happens in the nation of Israel? Like oh, no wonder it goes from turmoil and chaos to now, all of a sudden, god's favor and blessing. It was like an open heaven for the 33 years that he reigned over Israel, like God's favor and blessing was established. So, anyway, there's so much I could say there, but like that's what I'm seeing in that vision, like there's something about the worship and I thought about King David. I knew in 2025 and probably in the next couple years here in America, we have this assignment to raise up a pure movement of worship that's going to clear the air and it's going to bring restoration to the land and God's going to open. We've called this whole tour Open Heavens Tour. We're going to be in Temecula in a few days, that's right.
Speaker 1:Let's go.
Speaker 2:August 2nd. We're believing that God's going to open up the heavens over California and unto America and the nations. But there's something that we're grappling, we're holding onto with this Davidic anointing in worship, where we lay hold of the heart of God and we chase His heart for America and for our cities and our families, and we just believe that as we bring worship into our cities, we share the gospel like God's going to open up the heavens over America. And I think we're in a key window of time right now in our nation, a grace period where we got to chase this thing.
Speaker 2:The church has to seize her moment. We have to go full force ahead. This is not one of those moments where we shrink back and just say, oh, we're kind of going back to normal or whatever. After the last few years, I actually think I have a lot of fear of the lord on it. We have to put the pedal to the metal and it's gonna actually affect how the next decade and a couple decades play out. How the church responds right now. That's right. So but.
Speaker 2:I just want to tie that in with the whole.
Speaker 1:No, bro, that's, that's amazing. First chronicle 16 like that's the that's it, bro, first chronicle 16.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's all there yeah david placed the ark inside the tent. Um it, yes, it's all there, bro. Yeah, it's all there, which is crazy because there's so much alignment here. But we got to stop playing church. Yeah, like we got. Like we got to get out of the four walls. Yeah, like god did not call us to. You know, come in on a sunday, roll out, you know, a couple hours later and go back to what you were doing. There's so many distractions every single day. A one-hour sermon by your pastor on a Sunday is not enough time. That's not enough time with God. We got distractions literally right in our pocket 24-7, 365. We got to stop playing church. We've got to rise up. There's more you said it at the beginning the harvest.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Right, it's plentiful.
Speaker 2:It is.
Speaker 1:There's a lot of people that are going through hardships, depression, divorces, abuse more than ever before, and they need God and they're looking for a Savior. They're looking for that light, they're looking for the love and the joy. And who has it? We do. It's living inside of us, the Holy Spirit's living inside of us and we just got to share it.
Speaker 1:Hey mom, dad, brother, sister, neighbor, employee right, I see so many people Like for us, we're a faith-based organization, but I see so many people that claim to be believers, that love Jesus, but they oust God from their business. Right, it's like dude, pray with your employees, yeah, like. Do you love them? Like, do you really love your employees? That's good. Why are you keeping the greatest gift of the world Dude them? Like, do you really love your employees? Why are you keeping the greatest gift of the world, dude?
Speaker 1:Money can't buy that. Yeah, right. No, no boat, no airplane, no vacation is going to bring you that level of joy. Yeah, or peace, right, like. You're keeping the greatest gift from all of the people that you love, at least share with your community. You know, and and we all do it we're all victims, we all fall, and so it's our job and it's our responsibility to take ownership in that rise up, and I love what you guys are doing and, uh, the movement behind that and the, the vision that god has has given you, and he's going to continue to bring the right people to partner within that vision you know, so that's what he does.
Speaker 2:Yeah, builds, he builds uh, the army, he does, and I get the chance to meet people like you even today. It's like you know, he takes us on these journeys and, like, connects us to the ones that are part of that. For sure, that army. So it's just, yeah, it's an honor.
Speaker 1:That's amazing, bro. That's amazing. So you guys are here, you're in Temecula. Yeah, august 2nd. What can we expect, bro? What's gonna happen August 2nd?
Speaker 2:well we'll see right, god, this is crazy, you can do whatever he wants. I always like telling people like let's, let's approach these gatherings as if we we haven't even seen anything yet. Let's not come in with this mentality that we have it all figured out and it's just another gathering. He's the infinite God Perfect answer bro. I think that's my best charge.
Speaker 1:Yes, we're going to worship. Obviously, we're going to share the message of Jesus.
Speaker 2:We're going to baptize people. Come be baptized if you want. It's going to be a really powerful moment, but we're believing God to open up the heavens over our city and over California, over our nation. So, but it takes an army. Let's believe together and just believe that God's establishing his storyline over California Not one of corruption and chaos and darkness, but one of revival.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and let's stop putting God in a box.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's key.
Speaker 1:Let's get it. Yeah. Throw the box away. Yeah, Because so many people just put God in this little 10 by 10, lock them in. It's like all right. And to your point earlier, right. Yeah, I was talking about Job, like you don't even know me. You, you don't even know me. Yeah.
Speaker 2:You don't even know what I'm capable of. My favorite line he says because Job's freaking out right and God's like, brace yourself like a man. I'm going to speak to you, you will answer me. I will question you, you will answer me. And then he says this line that has wrecked me, bro, for the last several weeks. He said were you there when I laid the foundations of the earth? And the foundations of the earth? And then he goes on a whole rant after that. But that was all I needed.
Speaker 1:I just read that first line.
Speaker 2:I was like creator God. I don't even know you.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't even know how roots grow down and trees grow up. I don't know how that little thing turns into that giant thing. Right, exactly, dude. Yeah, bro, that's amazing, amazing, it's infinite. I don't know how a fish swims just by wiggling its body.
Speaker 2:you know he goes into all that. Yeah, yeah, it's amazing. You know the ordinances of the heavens so true, it's so true.
Speaker 1:And then we box them in. Yeah, like we know. We know, yeah, we're so ignorant, we're dummies at the end of the day, right, like, on the grand scheme of things, like our brains are these little tiny pieces that have no idea the magnitude of creator, and even like spirit, like we people. You know, they don't even put the Holy Spirit in a box, they just say there isn't a Holy Spirit. You know, like, forget, don't even put the holy spirit in a box, they just say, say there isn't a holy spirit. You know, like, like, forget about it. Yeah, you know, it's like, wow, like god tells us that we have the power, yeah, the same power that rose jesus from the grave living inside of us. Yeah, and then you will deny anything, that it has any type of correlation of power and what the true, real, genuine capability of that power is. Yeah, but it's living inside of you, right, but you don't even believe it. Dude, that's the craziest thing, right?
Speaker 1:Always like to bring up like this point, because so many believers out there, you know, whether you're catholic or baptist or pentecostal, like the enemy created those divisions, like those divisions are not of god, right, right, we're all part of the same family. Yeah, and so, whatever you believe, right, and your eschatology and all your divisional biblical pieces, right, are irrelevant. And so it doesn't matter what denomination you claim, as long as you love Jesus, you believe in his truth. The gospel is the infallible word of God, right. He died on the cross for your sins, right. That's the core, that's what matters the most, yeah, and so I really like to point that out especially often, because there is this level of division, and I even hear it from catholics, like, yeah, like, oh, you're a christian, I'm a catholic. I was like what the heck? We're the? We're the same, we're a family. We're gonna be in heaven together, bro.
Speaker 1:Like, don't create a wall between us, we're brothers you know, yeah, and I think that's really important and I think even you know, like pastors and leaders, church leaders, need to talk more about that, because there is this ideology that's there that has this division. I truly believe this is the season, and I think worship is doing it and is going to continue to do that to tear those walls down.
Speaker 2:Those walls are coming down. Yeah, that's it. I was just in a meeting the other night where the message was about how worship unites, maybe more than anything else, because we get outside of ourselves and we look to Jesus and then when we start to sing, right, there's this unity that happens, and so I think that's part of why the worship is so central to this thing. God's raising up, you know. So that's the goal, and Psalm 133, how beautiful and pleasant it is when you dwell together with your brethren, and there's an anointing right, there's an anointing that comes on the unity. So we're believing for that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I love it. Yeah, so rad bro.

Speaker 1:Just looking for that day. Well done, my good and faithful servant, that's it. You got to keep pushing, keep moving and striving for that, not get distracted. Yeah, doesn't matter if you see a pink fence, just know that on the other side of that pink fence something bigger and better. So you're going to get over that fence.
Speaker 2:Don't grow weary in doing good.

Speaker 1:Make sure to go show joel some love and support, um, whether that's, you know, just giving him a follow, giving him some likes, sharing his content, um, that goes a huge way, as you all know, on the marketing side of things. Um, so go show him some love and, if you want to, you know, be part of his mission and what god's doing in the life, in the life of him and his team. And you want to support financially or you want to support through other efforts or even just sharing the message and what god's doing. And you have people in other cities and you want to connect them to other people in those cities that you're moving into. Yeah, um, it's teamwork. It's all about the team.
